Mittens

It is looking like Mitt Romney has this nomination wrapped up now.   It was pretty much a slow train wreck that I watched happen.   But not is all lost.   Most of the Conservatives are not happy and the “Scorched Earth” campaign will definitely leave a bad taste in some people’s mouths.   But hey, this is politics and not Patty Cake.

With that all said, I am glad that this whole shenanigan of a Primary is over basically.     I still think Newt is the best one that was left after all the carnage of Debacles and the campaign trail which seems like for about 10 years now.   Still Cain was my first choice, but he was washed out by the whole DC Establishment and the MSM.

But it is all not lost and this was pretty much hand written in the Tea Leaves a long time ago.  When basically the whole punditry from DC and Fox News forced Romney down our throats, this was “Inevitable”.   It did not help that all the NON Mittens, went after each other like it was a Royal Rumble at Wrestlemania.   All the “He is a Big Time RINO”, and even some called Newt a Socialist (WTF???????).

This whole primary season has been one bad TV Comedy after gaffes coming from everyone, and unforced errors galore.  But in the end, this is not about Newt, Mittens, The Herminator or even the Ronulan.   This November is about getting the WON out of office.  I hope some people will not take their ball and go home and act like little children.   There is a Bigger Picture.

I knew that getting behind Cain in the beginning before many even knew who he was, that he was going to be a Long Shot or as he called himself the Dark Horse in the race.   I thought he would be a breathe of fresh air in the swamp that is called DC.  His unceremonious exit and insane smears against him left me aghast at how people on our side join in the mud slinging.

There is so much of this Primary I want to just forget and just move on.   It has been a big drain on me mentally and really made me want to tell everyone to “Get a Fucking Grip”.   The vitriol and over the top rhetoric was absolutely insane and made me want to just give up and twiddle my thumbs and forget politics all together.    This was truly some of the most asinine behavior I have seen in a ling time, and that is even after watching the Democrats and their insanity.  It really seemed like some on the Right turned into flaming leftists in their tactics.

But I just want to forget that and move on.   I know I am not thrilled that Mitt is going to be the nominee.   But I am usually on the loosing end of many of the candidates I have endorsed and gotten behind.   It goes with the territory of trying to infiltrate the GOP and move it back in the right direction.   The “Establishment” or whatever you want to call them have entrenched themselves in the upper echelons of the GOP.

I do not think it is time to jump ship and form a new party or even join the Libertarian party.  That will only leave the “Establishment” in place and give more power to the Democrats and their minions of merry Leftists.    The way to turn the ship in the right direction is not to leave it to those that want to stay the course.  You change it from within.   As many of my friends have been saying for the last few years is that you need to get involved in the Party itself.   Got to the meetings, become a Precinct Committeeman,  find a campaign to help.

This is going to be a Long #War.  And we cannot change it overnight, or even in 1 or 2 elections.  This is going to take a long time to recover from decades of abuse from both the Democrats and the Republicans.   We must never give up.   The Country is at a crossroads and we need to help it go in the right direction and you do not help by staying on the sidelines.   Yes , we may have lost this one and Mitt Romney is most likely (will be) the nominee.   But we must learn from this and come back stronger.   And also keep the fire to Romney if he is elected to the Presidency.

As I said this is not about Romney this election.   WE need to get the WON out of the White House.   We cannot go on spending our way into oblivion and let Obama win in November.   Will I have to drink before voting for Romney and take a shower afterwards?   YES.   But  Mitt Romney will be a whole Hell of a lot better than the stumbling bumbling fool we got as a President now.
