A number of conservative activists and bloggers say they’re furious at media magnate Glenn Beck for what they call content theft. Over the past several years, Beck has relied on video, audio and written content from others to fill his radio and television shows, as well as his websites. Often he has credited his fellow conservatives for their work. Yet in many other instances say dozens of conservative journalists who spoke to The Daily Caller, he has not, often taking elaborate steps to cloak the origins of the material.

The reason, I found the piece so interesting is that I was contacted by Boyle and my statement which did not blast Beck was not used.

Three weeks ago I was contacted by Mr. Boyle and told that he was working on a story about Glenn Beck “stealing” content from conservative bloggers. I replied to him two days later saying that I saw that as something O’ Reilly does (he once ran an exclusive Helen Thomas video of mine and cut out the logo). Other people have given me examples of other radio and/or TV hosts who have ripped them off.

Mr. Boyle replied, yes but has Beck ever done that to you.   I answered yes sometimes, but he makes it up to me by sometimes mentioning my blog out of the blue and sent him the link to a video showing Beck looking for some information about Israel and saying, “Let me go to Yid With Lid, He Usually has that information” or something like that (I usually send him my important research anyway). The email trail is posted at the bottom of this post.

Funny how Mr. Boyle did not want to discuss other hosts who “steal” people’s work, nor did he feel obligated to point to the fact that I told him that Beck makes up for it. It is also interesting that Mr. Boyle’s story about Beck taking the watermark of of someones video, is almost exactly the same as a story I told him….about Bill O’ Reilly

The truth is that Beck does sometimes use my stuff, most recently was his video description of the Fogel family massacre in Itamar parts of which seemed to be adapted from my prose.

But in that example is the reason why it is so easy to single out Glenn Beck.  Most of the time when a TV/Radio host uses someone’s material, they read the blog article aloud, saying I read this article called xyz at the blog abc. Beck takes the material and integrates it into his show, which at times can include monologues 20 minutes at a shot.  Beck doesn’t read material, he adapts it. Sometimes he mentions all the sources, sometimes he doesn’t.
 
Is that bad?  Yes and its just as bad when my work has been borrowed by other TV and/or Radio people, people at other websites, the ones who have used my research or prose without attribution or a link or even the hijack sites who just reprint my articles, give me a bi-line and make their readers assume that I am one of their correspondents. And its not just broadcast and internet, newspapers steal content too, trust me it has happened often. The truth is most of the time when a site or a radio host forgets to give credit it is an error of omission. Sometimes it is because they have found out the same information from their sources at about the same time.  When the lack of attribution happens on purpose..well trust me you can tell the difference (and I remember each and every case).

The real question is why is Boyle going after only Beck when it is such a common occurrence and why did he refuse to mention the other side of the story especially after I sent him proof.

I worry that across the world innocent Jewish children are being de-humanized. That the radical thieves who have stolen and now control Islam are teaching their children to kill my children. I think about the European and American press portraying Jews using old horrible stereotypes, I see anti-Semitism growing on US Campuses, people use  old anti-Semitic stereotypes are on television without being confronted, and we have a President who continues to appease the haters of the world.

And just like 70 years ago I see much of the world refusing to go beyond tepid lip service, refusing to acknowledge the scope of the Antisemitism problem and acting to perpetuate rather than to prevent it.

A friend once told me that all Jewish holidays are based on the same premise, “they tried to kill us —we won—lets eat!” This is only partially true, there are some very joyous holidays that fit into that category such as Pesach and Chanukah. There are also the others–those based on a totally different idea: they tried to kill us they won, and few of us survived by the grace of G0d. You know, holidays such as Tisha B’Av and Yom HaShoah.

Call me an alarmist but I am scared! Every time I open a newspaper or turn on the TV is becoming increasingly clear to me that we are in the early stages of one of those “They tried to kill us” periods. How often have you read about the “Powerful Israel Lobby” in the NY Times, Media Matters, The Huffington Post , on TV or coming out of the world of academia? How many times have you read about the other things the Jewish people supposedly do control the media, the banks? And when people spew that hatred, they are called “Anti-Israel” instead of what they really are: Anti-Semites.

Look at how former President of the US declares that the “Jewish Lobby” and is seen as a valued elder, or how the present President extends his hand in friendship to terrorists.

See how the world takes a Terrorist who denies the Holocaust, such as Mahmoud Abbas and declares him to be a moderate. And how nations such as Russia and Switzerland takes  another Holocaust denier and sell him components he can use to make a nuclear weapon.

Look at how the world sees a bigoted country like Saudi Arabia and considers it moderate….Saudi Arabia is building a fence to keep out people from Yemen. We know that when a state does this it is called an apartheid fence. That’s what Saudi Arabia, the EU, and people like the peanut president call Israel’s fence. Yemen is says that the Saudi apartheid fence is really a land grab. Isn’t that what the UN says about the Israeli Fence?

Saudi Arabia is country where the public practice of any religion other than Islam, including Christianity and Judaism, the presence of churches, and open possession of Christian religious materials are outlawed. Yet the UN called Zionism racist and has executed two “Durban Conferences” bent on demonizing the Jews and making Israel a pariah state, when Israel  allows true freedom of religion. The Israeli government zealously guards the rights of people to practice their any faith they choose.

Saudi Arabia has Oil reserves so it is called a moderate. Israel has Jews so it is called racist!

Sometimes when I am enjoying the laughter of my children I wonder if they will be able to experience the same joy when they are my age, or will they face mass murder from the children who are being taught to hate.

Will Iran, who once held a conference denying the Shoah, continue to build nuclear bombs with the intention of perpetuating the next Shoah? Will “moderates” like Egypt continue to be handed over to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood.  Will Muslim Clerics Still call Jews Apes and Pigs and call for our death?

“Muhammad said in his Hadith: The hour (resurrection will not come until you fight the Jews. And the rock and the tree will say; Oh Muslim, Oh Servant of Allah there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him” Dr Hassan Khader, founder Al Quds Encyclopedia.

Folks, its time to throw away the political correctness and realize the Muslim World doesn’t just want Israel out of the West Bank and Gaza —they want us dead! And by “us” I mean all Jews everywhere and all Americans everywhere. Let that roll around in your mind for a second, if you have young children at home go hug them because the Muslim world is trying to have our children’s generation face what our parent’s generation faced.

And don’t think for a minute that it is just the Muslim world. They just opened the door! Following the lead of their Oil suppliers, much of Europe has returned to their long standing tradition tradition of Jew hatred.

Look at the movements to ban shechitah, the kosher way to slaughter animals as defined by the Talmud, or the movement to ban circumcision in San Fransisco. It is a fact that most anti-Jewish governments start their persecution by banning practices such as keeping kosher and ritual circumcision (Ancient Rome and Nazi Germany for Example)

Look at how Helen Thomas is being celebrated in this country. How the mainstream media describes her as being fired for being anti-Israel, when her comments about Jews controlling media, the banks, and Washington DC are clearly anti-Semitic. How when that evil slug Louis Farrakhan spews Anti-Semitic venom, his hatred is ignored by the media. Or even  how MSNBC employs someone like Pat Buchanan who has written that there are too many Jews on the Supreme Court and has said on TV that there are too many Jews in the Senate.

Look at French Politicians? Former French Prime Minister Raymon Barre-in an interview on “France Culture,” a state-run radio station-in stated that opposing the deportation of Jews from France during World War II had not been a “matter of major national interest.” Barre also claimed in the interview that the French Jewish community had turned convicted French Nazi criminal Maurice Papon into a “scapegoat.”

Anti-Jewish acts and statements across the world are increasing exponentially. If you are Jewish you can’t own land in Most Arab countries, Gaza and the West Bank and the Côte d’AzurFrance. And look at how Jews accept second-class status, just try praying on top of the Temple Mount.

We haven’t seen the worst of it. One day these children, who are having daily hatred lessons, will be adults and they will be going after my kids and yours.

These are just a few of the ever increasing list of examples.

One thousand years from now, if there is a Jewish Holiday commemorating the early twenty first century what kind will it be; the kind that ends with “lets eat” or the kind that ends with lets cry.

It is up to us as individuals and as a people to do something about it. We cannot remain complacent. Every offense must be challenged. Every statement must be answered. When someone tries to tip toe around the problem of Jew hatred like President Obama does when he supports the Palestinian Terrorists in their declaration that Jews should not be allowed to live in Judea and/or Samaria.

Every time we have called out to God as a people he has responded, think about those holiday’s Passover, Chanukah, Purim, the solution always starts with a return to G-d and prayer and ends with us taking action.

Prayer is never the whole answer we must act for our selves but let me suggest that if we the Jewish people were to ask our Maker for guidance, a solution to all this hatred will be found. The Passover story starts with God hearing the cry of the Jewish People. Maybe we can use Passover to cry out again.

Polls have shown that Passover Seders are most observed Jewish Holiday Ritual. Maybe the holiday which begins is the time for one more prayer than one more heartfelt request for peace from the Jewish People to our maker—just maybe, God will answer and deliver us as he has done so many times before The solution begins with faith and prayer and ends with our action. No mitzvah is too small; no prayers too short just make it come from the heart.

Before you decide what to do, go look in on your kids, watch them sleep, hear them giggle and give then a big hug, whether they are twenty months or twenty years, because it is their future which depends on it.

As it says in the Haggadah:

This year we are here; next year in the land of Israel. This year we are slaves; next year we will be free people.
